I do miss that aspect with GSM phones (I moved to verizon). I used to have a backup phone just in case my main one dies. Just stick in the card and bingo. Verizon I have to call a number and enter stuff.

i do this ALL the time...and it works PERFECTLY. I get sick phones of quick, so I just buy decent and cute little GoPhones all the time to keep me happy. I just bought the new Samsung Blue GoPhone. Its black/blue and it also has a camera.

No. See. I had one cell phone. But, my brother busted his up, so I gave mine to him, bought that 15 dollar GoPhone, and stuck MY SIM card in it. And, it worked perfectly. For about 6 months until I got a new phone. Your plan is on your SIM card. So, it doesn't matter what AT&T phone you use. It'll work in any of them. For...forever.

a prepaid phone is just a phone with a prepaid sim card. an iphone can use a prepaid sim card if its unlocked and most att phones can use a prepaid sim card, even smart phones because i did it with a pantech duo and a palm treo
